DESIGN DIRECTOR

Wadsworth Design Build is hiring an experienced Design Director to manage the Design Studio in Jamaica, Vermont.

Overview:

The Design Studio Director oversees the pre- and post-construction design services on all Design/Build projects. Required is the ability to effectively understand the design and construction process, relate and communicate closely with team members from the Design and Engineering Services, Construction Operations, Suppliers, and Subcontractors, across multiple projects. This individual through their activities will assist the team members in resolving project concerns, address design and regulatory requirements, develop and nurture current client relationships and expectations, and demonstrate the company’s superior ability in providing services to potential clients.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a design related field.

  • 5 years of senior level design experience.

  • 5 years of management experience.

  • Excellent Verbal and written communication.

  • Strong Knowledge of Architecture and Construction practices.

  • Thorough understanding of Sketch-up and Auto CAD.

  • Ability to provide the highest level of Customer service.


ROOFER

We specialize in complex asphalt and metal roof installations throughout Southern Vermont and are looking to add to our roofing division. Whether you are an experienced roofer or have no experience at all, we would like to talk to you.

We will train the right candidates in all aspects of roofing by working alongside our experienced crew.

  • Ability to perform repetitious duties including lifting (up to 50 lbs.), bending and standing for long periods of time

  • A valid driver’s license


RESIDENTIAL CARPENTERS

Vermont Barns is hiring experienced Residential Carpenters in various locations.

Qualifications:

  • A collaborative team player

  • Willingness to wear many hats on a project

  • Experienced start-to-finish carpenter capable of working on foundation to finish

  • Capable of generating exceptional quality work on our design build projects and renovations

  • A problem-solver that is able to collaborate and learn

  • Work with other team members and customers

  • Reports to Project Manager and Operations Manager.

 

PROJECT MANAGER

Vermont Barns is hiring experienced Project Managers in various locations

Overview:

Project Manager (PM) works with our clients during the construction phase of our design build and renovations projects.  Our PMs coordinate with the client, in-house design team, and subcontractors throughout the project. The PM will have a knowledge base that allows them to make decisions about the constructability of a design - including details related to site work, excavation, concrete, carpentry, mechanical systems, electrical, plumbing, cabinetry, finishes, etc.  Reports directly to the owner of the company, the General Manager and Operations Manager. 

Required skills: 

  • Experience as either a lead carpenter on high-end residential projects or as a professional project manager in a relevant industry

  • Expert at interpreting construction drawings and specifications

  • Competency in construction budget oversight

  • Subcontracting knowledge (preferably with residential construction trades)

  • Cost estimating knowledge (labor, materials, construction assemblies)

  • Experience working with architects, designers, and engineers

  • Ability to confidently lead a team of carpenters

  • Established computer competency to include e-mail, scheduling/calendars, remote meeting applications (Teams)
